Just to try to get some more purchase on what it is we're grappling with here: when the object followed the cam, was it absolutely instantaneous? By which I mean, it appeared painted directly on the screen? Or did it lag slightly, and catch up with the cam in a split-second? In the former case, it would really have to be that the object somehow attached to a HUD attachment point.
